Evelyn was an active grandmother, regularly attending her grandchildren's baseball, basketball, soccer and football games and musical performances throughout their school years. Although specializing in mothering and grandmothering, she also was a self-employed domestic worker for many years, becoming close friends with many of her long-term clients.

An extrovert, Evelyn always loved to talk and entertain, and she inspired her family throughout her life with her faith, her cheerful disposition, her piano flourishes, her laugh and her buoyant energy.
